St. Katharine Drexel is an American founder of the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament. a congregation of missionary nuns dedicated to the welfare of American Indians and African Americans.

In 1932 St. Katharine Drexel founded St. Vincent de Paul Church and School to serve African American Catholis in North Nashville as well as the ministry needs of Fisk Univerity and Meharry Medical College. 

St. Katharine Drexel is the second U.S. born cannonized saint, the first is Elizabeth Ann Seton.
